Cedro Mineração will benefit two new social projects in Mariana (MG): the "Bamboo Project" and the "Culture and Transformation Project". The initiatives, chosen to meet the specific demands of the Emanuel Therapeutic Community (Coterem) and the Renovar Movement of Mariana, will contribute to fostering the creative economy and sustainable development in the region.

Both projects focus on educating and empowering the population through courses, workshops and training, with an emphasis on areas such as handicrafts, entrepreneurship and fashion production. These actions, which have already been successfully implemented in other parts of Brazil, have generated positive effects in the communities involved, such as increased income generation.

Father José Geraldo Coura (Father Juca), 51, is one of the supporters of the Bamboo Project in Mariana and believes in the power of transformation that actions like these can bring: "With Cedro's support, we can help people develop their skills through workshops that will provide professional and personal retraining. It's an appreciation of the lives of each one of them," she says.

"This incentive from Cedro will be of great importance to our projects, as we will be able to take our handicraft work to even more people in the community. This will generate a source of income for everyone, as well as perpetuating the customs of our people, strengthening our origins," says Raimunda Maria dos Anjos Castro, better known affectionately in Mariana as Dona Dica, 72, a community leader and embroiderer since her youth.

The "Bambo Project" and the "Culture and Transformation Project" are concrete actions that seek to transform the social reality of the region, offering new possibilities for learning and development. The projects also reinforce Cedro's essential role in the socio-economic development of the regions where it operates, reaffirming its commitment to the future of Mariana and seeking to leave a positive legacy for future generations.
