Our mines

Morro do Gama (Extractive Center)

The Gama Mine, in Nova Lima, currently produces around four million tons of iron ore a year and is an example of Cedro's commitment to innovation and sustainability in mining. The unit has implemented a process for filtering 100% of the tailings generated, with subsequent dry stacking. Today, approximately 85% of the water used in the mine's production is reused.

Mariana (Mariana Cedar)

Cedro started operations at the Mariana mine in 2022. The unit currently produces around three million tons of iron ore, but the company plans to expand its production to ten million tons a year. The company generates around 1,000 direct jobs in the city and another 1,500 indirect jobs in activities such as ore transportation and services focused on personal and professional development, health and safety.

New projects

As part of its plan to expand production to 20 million tons of iron ore per year over the next few years, Cedro Mineração is working on the development of two more mines and Cedro Logística, a rail terminal and a port. The first new mine to come on stream should be Dois Irmãos, in Barão de Cocais (MG), with a production capacity of 1.5 million tons per year. The second will be the Itabirito mine, in the town of the same name, where the Bação Terminal will also be built, with capacity to ship 14 million tons of iron ore a year. Due to its proximity to the MRS rail network, the Bação Terminal will be an important logistical option for mining companies in the region to transport their production via the Port of Itaguaí (RJ), where Cedro will build a port terminal with capacity to handle 25 million tons of iron ore per year.
