Page 49 of the January 2025 issue of Encontro magazine reported that Cedro Mineração, one of Cedro Participações' companies, is investing R$400,000 in the construction of a running track and cycle lane in the Vale do Sol neighborhood of Nova Lima (MG).
There will be around 800 meters of segregated lanes for traffic and sports on Avenida Marte, with LED lighting to make it safer for users.
Developed by the architecture and urban planning office of one of the local residents, the project was conceived based on a demand from the community itself, represented by the Association of Residents and Owners of Vale do Sol (Aprevs).
In designing the project, maximum respect has been paid to the vegetation that has already been established. In addition to the running and walking trails, wooded areas will be created and urban equipment, such as benches for resting, and signs, such as distance signs, will be installed.
The running track and bike path are in addition to a series of other investments made in improvements for the Vale do Sol community, totaling more than R$5 million in recent years, such as drainage works, which solved an old problem of flooding in the neighborhood's streets on rainy days; the traffic circle at the junction of Avenida Quinta and BR-040, urbanized and transformed into a square; and the donation of a vehicle to the First Independent Military Police Company.
