AGRIBUSINESS
The land acquired by Cedro, whether for its own use or to develop projects for sale to third parties, in rural areas, is strictly up to date with legal requirements. Nothing is done before obtaining the necessary licenses and special care is taken with the legal reserve and permanent preservation areas (APPs) on our farms.
VIKTUS FARM
At Fazenda Viktus, in Santa Rita de Cássia (MG), for example, where Cedro has two areas totaling 12,600 hectares, there are 2,500 hectares of legal reserve areas, preserved with native vegetation, guaranteeing the conservation of biodiversity and the protection of native fauna and flora. Another 350 hectares on the banks of rivers, lakes, springs and hilltops, among other geographical features, are set aside for permanent preservation.
These are areas of fundamental importance for the conservation of water resources, geological stability, biodiversity, soil protection and the gene flow of fauna and flora, as well as ensuring the well-being of people in the surrounding area.
DOCUMENTATION
Among the documents required by the government and presented by Cedro are: the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR), the Rural Land Tax (ITR), Ibama, GEO (Georeferencing) and the Rural Property Registration Certificate (CCIR).
MINING
Areas of vegetation suppressed by mining are also compensated through actions such as funding and support for the regularization of land ownership in Permanent Preservation Units (UPPs), considered one of the main instruments for biodiversity conservation, but which often have land-use planning problems.
Thus, through our economic activities, we contribute directly to the environmental sustainability of the regions in which we operate and, indirectly, to environmental sustainability and the preservation of biodiversity at a national level.
