CINE OP
Since 2006, Cine OP - Mostra de cinema de Ouro Preto has been pioneering the preservation of Brazilian audiovisual history, treating cinema as heritage. Its purpose is to be a cultural enterprise of reflection, in dialog with education and in exchange with the world.
CRUZEIRO'S CENTENARY HISTORY
Cedro was one of the supporters of the project A história centenária do Palestra/Cruzeiro, a book of stories, chronicles, articles and photos about the 100 years of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, founded by Italian immigrants in Belo Horizonte (MG).
CINE BRASIL
Cine Brasil is a project that holds free outdoor movie screenings for up to 1,500 spectators in public spaces in Mariana and Nova Lima. As well as movie screenings filled with lots of free popcorn, the project also includes photography workshops for teenagers and senior citizens in situations of social vulnerability, and a performance by local artists before the start of the movie session.
VIADUCT OF THE ARTS
Cedro supported the publication of the photography book Trilogia Limítrofe, by renowned photographer Daniel Moreira from Minas Gerais, about urban occupations in Brazil. The book shows the results of the research that has guided the photographer's production over the last decade and highlights the role of photography as a vehicle for communicating the daily life of the Brazilian population. In addition to the book, the project included lectures as a social counterpart.
CHRISTMAS LIGHT
The project, sponsored by Cedro, promoted the 1st Natal Luz de Ouro Preto, in the Minas Gerais cities of Ouro Preto and Mariana, with a new artistic conception. The cultural segments of performing arts, music, gastronomy and the like were integrated, and strong elements of local and Minas Gerais culture were included in the Christmas festivities, so that the public could learn more about its origins, marked by cultural miscegenation.
MINING FARMS
The project highlights, through books and photos, the importance of Minas Gerais farms linked to the historical, geographical, cultural and economic formation in the daily life of the towns and villages that changed the course of the state, transforming it into a powerhouse of agriculture, livestock and commerce from the past to the present day.
MUSIC IN HOSPITAL
Cedro is one of the supporters of the Music in the Care Home project, run by the Mário Penna Institute in partnership with the Culture and Art Space (ECA). The aim of the initiative is to help patients recover and to humanize the hospital environment.
