Cedro Mineração officially began the certification process for its Environmental Management System (EMS), in accordance with the ABNT NBR ISO 14001:2015 standard.

The process was approved by Senior Management and established clear guidelines for governance, scope, and schedule, in addition to the creation of an Environmental Management Committee responsible for monitoring the implementation of the system.

More than just meeting regulatory requirements, it is about strengthening a culture of environmental management based on prevention, continuous improvement, legal compliance, and responsibility wherever the company operates. Cedro's Sustainability Policy, also approved at this initial stage, will now guide environmental decisions, processes, and practices in all areas of the company.

In practice, this means structuring, documenting, and communicating our environmental policy, objectives, goals, and management methodology in a clear and transparent manner, ensuring that all employees, communities, suppliers, partners, and other stakeholders understand the company's "DNA" with regard to sustainability.

ISO 14001 is implemented by people, for people. Therefore, it is essential that everyone embraces this goal, feels part of it, and acts as protagonists in this achievement. Collective engagement, a sense of belonging, and individual commitment will be decisive in reaching this milestone.

Involvement of everyone

The responsibility of the entire team of employees is collective and comprehensive, as highlighted by CedroMineração's General Manager of Environment, Edinilson Barbosa. "The success of the Environmental Management System depends directly on the 100% engagement of everyone who works at the company. Each employee is a key player in ensuring that processes run according to plan and that we achieve formal ISO 14001 certification by the end of 2026," he said.

The Vice President of Operations at Cedro Participações, Wanderley Santo, also emphasized the importance of this initiative. “This certification attests to and reinforces our environmental governance policy and Cedro’s ESG commitments, which are aligned with best sustainability practices. The company reaffirms its commitment to responsible environmental management, the sustainability of its business, the protection of the environment, and respect for the people and communities where we operate," he said.

Stronger governance

This ISO 14001 certification will strengthen our governance, increase transparency, and demonstrate to the market, investors, regulatory agencies, and society that Cedro's commitments to environmental preservation, risk management, and addressing climate issues are conducted with method, responsibility, and traceability.

We invite all employees, both permanent and contracted, to actively participate in Cedro's ISO 14001 certification process. Everyone's participation is essential to the success of this journey. Certification is not just a seal, but the recognition of an organizational culture built daily by all people.
